Frosts Down to –7°C and Snowfall Expected in Turkmenistan This Week
Ahead of the New Year, temperatures in Turkmenistan are expected to drop. Subzero temperatures and precipitation in the form of snow and rain are forecast across all regions of the country.

In Ashgabat, partly cloudy weather will prevail, with snowfall expected in the middle of the week. The wind will change direction from easterly to northwesterly, with speeds ranging from 10–13 m/s to 14–16 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from –1…–3°C to +1…+3°C, while daytime temperatures will range from +2…+4°C to +7…+9°C.
In the Balkan velayat, partly cloudy conditions will dominate, with snowfall expected at the beginning and in the second half of the week. Winds will shift from easterly to northwesterly at speeds of 8–13 m/s to 12–17 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from –3°C to +2°C, and daytime temperatures from +7…+12°C in coastal areas to +3…+8°C.
In the Ahal velayat, partly cloudy weather with snowfall is expected. Winds will change from easterly to northwesterly at speeds of 8–13 m/s to 10–15 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from –5…–1°C to +4°C, while daytime temperatures will range from +1…+6°C to +6…+11°C.
In the Mary velayat, partly cloudy weather with snowfall is forecast. Winds will blow from the northeast at speeds of 7–12 m/s to 10–15 m/s. Temperatures will range from 0…–5°C at night to +1…+6°C and from 0…+5°C to +6…+11°C during the day.
In the Lebap velayat, partly cloudy weather with snowfall is expected. Northeasterly winds will reach speeds of 8–13 m/s to 11–16 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from –1…–6°C to –1…+4°C, and daytime temperatures from 0…+5°C to +8…+13°C.
In the Dashoguz velayat, partly cloudy weather with light snowfall is expected in the middle and toward the end of the week. Winds will change from southeasterly to northwesterly at speeds of 7–12 m/s to 10–15 m/s. Nighttime temperatures will range from –2°C to –7°C, and daytime temperatures from –3…+2°C to +1…+6°C.
