Lexus and Toyota Recognized as the Most Reliable Used Cars

The most reliable brands among used cars for 2025 have been identified. According to the results of a study conducted by the renowned American magazine Consumer Reports, Japanese car manufacturers once again took the lead.

The findings were presented as an infographic by Visualcapitalist, based on user responses regarding breakdowns and technical issues encountered over the past 12 months. Only car models produced between 2015 and 2020 were considered in the study.

At the top of the list was Lexus, the premium brand of Toyota Motor Corporation. In second place came Toyota's main brand itself. Other Japanese brands such as Mazda, Honda, and Acura also made it into the top five.

This outcome once again proves that Japanese vehicles are not only reliable when new but also maintain high dependability as used cars. That explains why many drivers prefer these brands when purchasing a used vehicle.
