Photo Contest "Amu Darya: A View Through the Lens" Announced in Turkmenistan on the Occasion of Amu Darya Day
This creative project was developed in cooperation between Germany, Switzerland, and Turkmenistan.
Main objectives of the contest:

To highlight the natural beauty and ecological significance of the Amu Darya River,

To increase respect for our natural heritage through creativity,
-
To widely showcase the river’s impact on regional development and well-being.
The project is implemented in Turkmenistan by the German international cooperation organization (GIZ) in partnership with the State Committee for Water Management of Turkmenistan.
Who can participate?
Anyone living in Turkmenistan over the age of 18 can participate.
Themes and requirements:

Landscape of the Amu Darya — natural views of the river in different seasons;

Flora and fauna — plants and animals in the river region;
-
Humans and Amu Darya — photos illustrating the interaction between people and the river (labor, recreation, traditions).

Up to 4 photos (JPEG, 300 DPI) per participant,
-
Minor editing allowed (cropping, color, brightness adjustments) — collages, adding or removing objects are prohibited.

Each photo must include the author’s full name, contact details, and a brief description.
