President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov Meets with President of Russia Vladimir Putin
On Friday in Ashgabat, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the International Forum “Peace and Trust” held in the Turkmen capital.
The Russian leader congratulated the Turkmen side on hosting the forum and on the 30th anniversary of the recognition of the country's permanent neutrality status, the press service of the President of the Russian Federation reported.
Vladimir Putin noted that Turkmenistan’s policy of permanent neutrality has fully proven its effectiveness, contributes to strengthening security in the region, and creates favorable conditions for the development of bilateral relations.
During the meeting, the Russian leader stated that the economic cooperation between the two countries is becoming more diversified, while the political dialogue remains trustworthy and stable.
“And of course, we are expecting you in St. Petersburg, as agreed, at the end of this month,” the Russian President added.
Speaking at the forum, Vladimir Putin said that Russian companies are ready to continue implementing new investment projects in the Turkmen market.
