"Roscosmos" Announces Upcoming Lunar Eclipse

Russians will be able to observe a total lunar eclipse on Sunday, September 7. This was reported by the press service of Roscosmos.

"The maximum phase of the total lunar eclipse will be at 21:12 Moscow time on September 7," the message says.

The natural phenomenon can be observed from 20:20 Moscow time, and its duration will be 1 hour and 22 minutes. The press service noted that the eclipse can be seen with the naked eye without additional equipment.

Earlier, astronomer and head of the methodological support department at the Moscow Planetarium, Lyudmila Koshman, told "Moscow 24" that besides the lunar eclipse, residents of Moscow and the Moscow region will also be able to see Venus being covered by the Moon in September.

According to her, Venus will be hidden behind the Moon on September 19 at 15:18 and will reappear at 16:13. She added that this event should be observed using a telescope.
