Turkmenistan’s weightlifters at the Asian Youth & Junior Weightlifting Championship in Astana continue their medal-winning streak.

In the junior girls’ 86 kg category, Anamjan Rustamova claimed the small silver in the snatch (105 kg), the small gold in the clean & jerk (140 kg), and the overall gold with a total of 245 kg.

China’s Li Hue, competing fiercely for first place, lifted a combined 244 kg (110 kg snatch + 134 kg clean & jerk), earning the overall silver. Uzbekistan’s Madina Faizullaeva took overall bronze with a total of 215 kg (96 kg + 119 kg).

In juniors, Turkmenistan’s Suleyman Japarov in the 110 kg class snatched 182 kg in the clean & jerk to take the small bronze, and with a total of 327 kg, also earned the overall bronze. His snatch of 145 kg placed him fourth in that lift.

Among the youth, Yslam Akmyradow secured the overall bronze with a 315 kg total (139 kg snatch, 176 kg clean & jerk), finishing fourth in the snatch.

With the conclusion of the junior events yesterday, Turkmenistan has claimed 2 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze, placing 11th overall.

The junior girls’ championship wraps up today. Currently, Turkmenistan’s team totals 2 gold, 1 silver, and 5 bronze, ranking in the top ten in the medal standings.
