Turkmenistan Proposes Japanese Business to Develop a Waste Processing Plant Project
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, during a meeting with representatives of the Japanese business community held on Friday in Tokyo, put forward an initiative to develop a project for the construction of a modern plant for processing household and construction waste. This was reported by the official media of Turkmenistan.
The head of state noted that the implementation of the project is aimed at reducing the volume of waste sent to landfills through sorting, recycling, and reuse.
The President emphasized that, amid the need for a comprehensive modernization of the economic model, Turkmenistan is focusing on the introduction of innovative development strategies, accelerated industrialization, a “green” transition, diversification of the energy sector, and the development of national and international transport and logistics connectivity. In all these areas, as noted, there are real and mutually beneficial opportunities for the active participation of Japanese business.
During the meeting, high appreciation was expressed for the many years of successful activity of major Japanese companies in Turkmenistan and their contribution to the implementation of large-scale projects.
At the same time, the President of Turkmenistan put forward initiatives to implement a project aimed at improving the level of wastewater treatment, as well as projects to build mini-plants for recycling plastic PET bottles and household appliances.
