World Cup 2026: 39 national teams have already secured qualification

The list of national teams that will compete in the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the USA, Canada, and Mexico continues to grow. Following the qualifying matches played on the night of November 18, five more teams booked their place in the tournament. Thus, 39 of the 48 available spots have already been filled.

After the latest round of qualifiers, the national teams of Switzerland, Spain, Scotland, Austria, and Belgium officially qualified for the final stage.

As of today, the confirmed list of World Cup 2026 participants includes:

USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, New Zealand, Iran, Argentina, Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan, Australia, Brazil, Ecuador, Uruguay, Colombia, Paraguay, Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, South Africa, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, England, Senegal, Ivory Coast, France, Croatia, Norway, Portugal, Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Scotland, Austria, and Belgium.

The remaining nine spots will be decided after the qualifying phase concludes. This will be the first World Cup in history to feature 48 national teams.
