A Hybrid Conference on Education Digitalization Held in Ashgabat
The international scientific-practical conference “Prospects for Implementing Digital Innovative Technologies in the Scientific and Educational Sphere” has concluded at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev. The event was held in a hybrid format and brought together experts from Turkmenistan, Germany, Malaysia, China, Japan, Iran, Belarus, the UAE, and other countries.
During the conference, presentations were delivered on global experience with artificial intelligence, the impact of digital solutions on education and production, as well as cybersecurity challenges. Special interest was drawn to practical examples of implementing digital systems and mechanisms for data protection.
One of the key speeches was delivered by a representative of the Ministry of Communications of Turkmenistan. He spoke about the joint project with UNDP, completed in May 2025, which launched the Interagency Electronic Data Exchange System. The system already provides fast and secure information exchange between government authorities, increases process transparency, and lays the foundation for expanding electronic public services for citizens and businesses.
The representative noted that cooperation with the UN Development Programme enabled the formation of modern digital infrastructure, the development of an innovative ecosystem, and support for technological entrepreneurship. Special attention is being paid to improving the qualifications of civil servants through international training programs and partnerships with leading centers, including the E-governance Academy (Estonia) and Innopolis University (Russia).
At the conclusion of the conference, participants emphasized the importance of continuing international projects and sharing experiences to further strengthen Turkmenistan’s digital infrastructure and improve the quality of public services.
