The aircraft in question is a large, tailless stealth drone, roughly the size of China’s medium-class multirole fighter jet, the J-10. While its official designation has not yet been announced, some sources refer to it as the "Unmanned Air Superiority Fighter." For clarity, international observers have dubbed it "Type B."

Features and Capabilities of "Type B"

This new drone is significantly larger than any previously known Chinese UAVs — including those seen in satellite images or partially covered during parade rehearsals. Analysts believe the drone is capable of supersonic speeds and has an extended flight range, made possible by its aerodynamic tailless design and the absence of systems required for a human pilot.

One of the aircraft’s standout features is its low radar visibility, a hallmark of modern stealth technology. This makes it well-suited for deep penetration missions into enemy airspace.

Weapon Systems and Purpose

Based on imagery of the drone’s underside, it appears to include internal weapons bays — a design feature that helps reduce radar signature while preserving aerodynamic performance.

Experts suggest that the "Type B" drone may be intended for air superiority roles, as well as long-range strike missions against high-value targets in contested airspace with dense air defense systems.

The unveiling of the "Type B" drone signals China’s rapid progress in the development of high-performance unmanned combat aircraft. If its reported specifications are accurate, the drone could pose a serious challenge to conventional air power doctrines and potentially shift the balance of air superiority in future conflicts.
