Friendship and Brotherhood Between Turkmenistan and Iran Strengthen

On June 24, 2025, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan hosted a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi, who arrived in the country on an official visit. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH). During the meeting, the sides discussed opportunities for further development of relations between Turkmenistan and the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the talks between the heads of the two countries' foreign ministries, the parties exchanged views on key areas of bilateral cooperation, as well as on international and regional issues, including the current situation in the Middle East.
The guest conveyed warm greetings from the leadership of his country to the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people — Hero Arkadag. He also expressed deep gratitude to the Turkmen side for the humanitarian assistance and fraternal support extended to the Iranian people during this difficult time.
As noted during the meeting, Turkmenistan, in accordance with its internationally recognized policy of neutrality, develops good-neighborly, equal, and trust-based relations with all countries of the world. Guided by humanitarian principles, the country consistently puts forward initiatives aimed at strengthening peace and global stability.
The Turkmen side, highlighting the increasingly complex situation in the Middle East, emphasized the necessity of acting strictly within the framework of the UN Charter and universally recognized norms of international law. Particular importance was placed on refraining from the use of force and making effective use of diplomatic tools.
In this context, Turkmenistan reaffirmed its readiness to participate in peaceful negotiations to resolve the current crisis and to support all initiatives aimed at ensuring stability and security in the region.
The Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs acknowledged Turkmenistan’s high level of responsibility in intergovernmental relations, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the brotherly country, and confirmed Iran’s willingness to continue constructive dialogue.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties confirmed their intention to further strengthen friendly and fraternal relations based on mutual understanding, support, and consistent development of the agreements reached.
