Hackers Leak Data of 5.7 Million Qantas Customers on the Dark Web
Personal data of customers of Australia’s largest airline, Qantas, stolen during the summer of 2025, was published by hackers on the dark web and made publicly accessible.
According to Report news agency citing the 9News channel, the reason for the data leak by cybercriminals was the company’s refusal to pay a ransom.
The leaked information includes customers’ surnames, first names, dates of birth, email addresses, and frequent flyer program details. The data also contains personal information of some well-known Australian politicians and public figures, including home addresses and phone numbers. However, according to the airline’s statement, hackers were not able to access credit card or passport information.
“We are working with cybersecurity experts to investigate which data was leaked and are implementing additional security measures,” company representatives said. It was also reported that they are cooperating with government agencies and federal police.
