Honest Work — Abundant Harvest
These days, alongside the cultivation of other agricultural crops, active efforts are underway in our region to grow potatoes and achieve a rich harvest. In the Year of International Peace and Trust, spring potatoes have been planted across a total of 1,401 hectares in the region, with an expected yield of 19,600 tons. Of this, 1,054 hectares belong to farmers’ associations, 279 hectares to private farmers and other producers, and the remaining 67 hectares are cultivated by experienced specialists in this field.
Currently, preparations are being made to harvest high yields of potatoes that have received proper care in line with agro-technical requirements. The dedicated work of farmers from the S.A. Niyazov Farmers’ Association in Çärjew district, known for their success in potato cultivation, deserves special recognition. This year, they planted nearly 9 hectares with the high-yielding "Santa" variety of spring potatoes.
The chief agronomist of the association, Yslam Gandymow, shared that tenant farmers such as Babamyrat Dowranow, Gülala Ismedowa, Bagtyýar Jumayew, and others aim to harvest at least 120 centners of potatoes per hectare this season. Altogether, the association plans to collect a total of 1,044 tons of potatoes.
