Opening Ceremony of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries Held in Awaza

Today, the opening ceremony of the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) took place at the Congress Center in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone. The event was attended by Heads of State, government leaders, representatives of prominent international and regional organizations, members of high-level delegations, and media representatives. This was reported by the newspaper "Turkmenistan."
At the beginning, the National Leader of the Turkmen people and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, warmly welcomed the high-level guests of the forum.
After that, a group photo session was held.

This was followed by speeches from UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly, Philemon Yang.
In their remarks, it was emphasized that the timing of this forum is highly significant, as it is held during the International Year of Peace and Trust, which coincides with the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s permanent neutrality and the 80th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations. Foreign guests highlighted the high level of organization of the international conference.
The opening ceremony of the Third UN Conference on LLDCs then continued with speeches by the participating Heads of State.
As part of the conference, high-level thematic roundtables, forums, bilateral meetings, and other related events are being held.
