President of Turkmenistan Arrives on a State Visit to Kazakhstan
President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow arrived in the Republic of Kazakhstan on Monday for a state visit, the newspaper Turkmenistan reports.
At the international airport of Astana, decorated with the national flags of Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan, an Honor Guard was lined up in honor of the distinguished guest. Serdar Berdimuhamedow was welcomed at the aircraft ramp by Kazakh officials as well as members of the Turkmen government delegation.
The main part of the visit is scheduled for tomorrow, November 25, and includes Turkmen–Kazakh high-level talks. Following the meeting, the signing of a package of bilateral documents aimed at strengthening multifaceted cooperation is expected.
This visit is taking place against the backdrop of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which was celebrated in October. Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan maintain an active political dialogue, successfully developing cooperation in various fields and providing mutual support within the UN and other international organizations, the publication notes.
This is already the third visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedow to Kazakhstan this year. Earlier, he took part in the “Central Asia – Italy” and “Central Asia – China” summits held in Astana.
