President Serdar Berdimuhamedov Holds Digital System Working Meeting

On July 7, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via digital system with the participation of Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers T. Atahallyyev and the governors (häkimler) of the provinces, where issues related to the country's agricultural sector and ongoing regional work were discussed. First, the governor of Ahal province, T. Nurmyradov, reported on the pace of seasonal agricultural works in the region.

Currently, within the preparation for next year's wheat sowing, plowing of fields freed from grain harvesting, preparation of agricultural machinery and equipment, and high-quality seeds for the sowing season are underway.

In the cotton fields, inter-row cultivation, fertilization with mineral fertilizers, and irrigation are continuing with active use of agricultural machinery.

Alongside harvesting, preparations are being made for autumn sowing of potatoes and vegetable and melon crops grown on agricultural lands of the region.

The governor also reported on the construction progress of socio-cultural and industrial facilities planned to be opened this year in the province, in accordance with the President's Program for Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2028 and the National Program for Transforming the Living Conditions of the Population of Villages, Settlements, District Towns, and District Centers until 2028.

After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of current seasonal works, particularly cotton care and laying the foundation for next year's crop according to agrotechnical standards, giving specific instructions to the governor.

The head of state also instructed to maintain control over the quality and timely completion of construction works on the facilities planned to be commissioned in the province this year.

Next, the governor of Balkan province, H. Ashyrmyradov, reported on the progress of agricultural campaigns in the region.

Plowing is conducted to prepare fields for the sowing season, with measures for proper functioning of agricultural machinery and selection of quality wheat seeds.

In cotton fields, inter-row cultivation, irrigation, and fertilization continue.

In line with tasks to strengthen food abundance in the country, work is underway to harvest potatoes and other vegetable crops and supply the domestic market with these products. Preparations for autumn sowing of these crops and seeds are also ongoing.
