The Light of Knowledge: The Teaching Journey of Jahan Jumayeva
During the grand celebration of the 34th anniversary of our glorious Independence, several citizens who actively contribute to public life and work diligently were awarded honorary titles and state decorations. Among those honored is Jahan Jumayeva, a primary school teacher at School No. 3 in Halaç district. She was awarded the Medal “For Love of the Motherland” of Turkmenistan.
Jahan Jumayeva graduated from the Rehmet Seyidov Pedagogical School in the city of Kerki in 1988 and began her teaching career at the same school where she currently works. Her father, Gurban Jumayev, who dedicated his life to teaching, served as her mentor. For 38 years, she has tirelessly devoted herself to educating and nurturing the younger generation. Now, she is a mentor to many young teachers, including Ogulsabyr Allakuliyeva, Gulnara Poladova, and Aysona Mahmedova. Her colleagues proudly note that her students often achieve strong academic success in higher grades. Many of her former pupils now work with respect and recognition in various professions across the country. She is held in high regard not only by her peers but also by the parents of her students and fellow villagers.
Jahan Jumayeva approaches every lesson with creativity, which has become her habit. Young teachers frequently consult her for advice. At methodological and practical conferences held at the district and regional levels, she shares her teaching experiences and emphasizes that improving teaching methods and enhancing students’ knowledge are core responsibilities of every teacher. She has successfully participated in the "Teacher of the Year" competition multiple times. One of her exemplary lessons at the regional level on the topic “What is good, what is bad?” in the subject of Life Skills for first graders was especially impactful. Her current second-grade students have already learned to write, read, and calculate. She strives to make her lessons effective, using modern, innovative tools and attractive teaching aids appropriately. To ensure active student engagement, she applies various teaching methods. She also prepares tailored questionnaires, organizes games and competitions related to the lesson topic, all of which greatly support her teaching.
In her educational work, she is guided by the valuable works and ideals of our Hero Arkadag and the Honorable President, providing modern education and moral upbringing to the younger generation.
To deepen the worldview of her students, the experienced teacher organizes extracurricular activities related to the beautiful nature of the homeland, underground and surface resources, as well as the flora and fauna of Turkmenistan. Her efforts to introduce national customs, rich cultural heritage, and foster love for the homeland and labor are also noteworthy.
Together with her husband, she has raised and nurtured eight children. Four of them are currently studying in various higher educational institutions. Jahan Jumayeva also actively participates in public life. She makes a meaningful contribution to raising the younger generation with a sense of national identity and patriotism.
“A teacher must first and foremost have a deep love for their profession and for children. When that exists, students will respond with trust, affection, and enthusiasm for learning. Thanks to our Honorable President’s tireless efforts, the quality of education has improved with the introduction of computers and new equipment in schools. Receiving the Medal 'For Love of the Motherland' recently was one of the happiest moments of my life. The high praise given to my work by the President inspires me to continue working with even greater dedication,” shared the veteran teacher Jahan Jumayeva.
We, too, congratulate her on receiving this well-deserved award and wish her continued success in the future.
