Thousands of Cybertrucks Gather Dust in Tesla Warehouses

In the United States, more than 10,000 unsold Cybertrucks have accumulated in Tesla's warehouses. Their total value is estimated at over €721 million (more than $809 million). According to ArenaEV, this electric pickup truck, promoted by Tesla as a flagship model, has failed to meet sales expectations.

Reports indicate that the availability of Cybertrucks for purchase has significantly increased in recent months. This is attributed not only to higher production but also to Tesla’s decision to reduce prices on various versions of the vehicle. This move gives an impression of variety, though in reality, it represents different prices for essentially the same model.

The average price of a Cybertruck is around €70,300 (approximately $79,000). Analysts believe the issue lies not in increased production but in weak consumer demand. Tesla has already slowed down production, further suggesting declining buyer interest.

Some of the unsold vehicles were produced in 2024, while others are part of the limited Foundation Series, which was discontinued in October of last year. These vehicles have been sitting in storage for several months.

To boost demand, the company has introduced a more affordable rear-wheel-drive version, using the same battery.

Currently, the inventory of unsold vehicles is roughly equal to two quarters of sales. Although the initial plan was to produce up to 250,000 Cybertrucks per year, Tesla may now struggle to sell even 20,000.

Dan Ives, an analyst at investment firm Wedbush Securities, suggests that Tesla might temporarily halt Cybertruck production. So far, the company has not officially commented on the situation.
