To the Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology of Independent Neutral Turkmenistan

Dear oil workers, gas specialists and geologists!

I wholeheartedly congratulate you on the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology, widely celebrated in our independent, permanently neutral Motherland!

Thanks to your persistent and dedicated work in the oil and gas sector of the national economy, impressive achievements have been attained. The comprehensive activities carried out in this industry strengthen our country’s position among the world leaders in hydrocarbon reserves. Based on this, we launch major international projects and set ambitious goals aimed at utilizing hydrocarbon resources primarily for the well-being of our people, future generations, as well as the peoples of neighboring states.

As a result of the efforts of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, the international Turkmenistan–China gas pipeline was commissioned on December 14, 2009. It is highly symbolic that this date, inscribed in golden letters in history, is celebrated in our country as the Day of Workers of the Oil and Gas Industry and Geology.

Within the framework of ensuring the comprehensive development of the sovereign Motherland, national and state programs have been adopted. In accordance with them, in the era of the Revival of the New Epoch of a Powerful State, large-scale measures are being implemented to achieve the set goals of creating major industrial complexes, gas networks, and developing promising oil and gas fields.

Among the achievements of the industry are the discovery of new oil and gas fields in various regions of our country, the Turkmenistan–China and East–West gas pipelines, and the ongoing project of the transnational Turkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline.

In the International Year of Peace and Trust, the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Hero-Arkadag, blessed the construction of an important section of this project along the Serhetabat–Herat route, known as “Arkadagyň ak ýoly.” This event once again demonstrates our country’s unwavering commitment to contributing significantly to long-term progress and sustainable development across the region.

Dear oil workers, gas specialists and geologists!

The “Galkynyş” gas field, discovered through the diligent efforts of domestic geologists and recognized as one of the world’s largest gas deposits, has immense economic significance for our country and the region as a whole. Its phased development opens new horizons for expanding supplies of Turkmen natural gas to international markets. Today, the number of countries showing demand for Turkmen energy resources is steadily increasing. Leading global companies and international financial institutions also express strong interest in cooperation and investment in this sector, encouraged by the favorable investment climate created for developing licensed blocks in the Turkmen sector of the Caspian Sea.

In accordance with the “Program of the President of Turkmenistan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028” and the program “Revival of the New Epoch of a Powerful State: National Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2052,” comprehensive measures are envisaged to significantly increase production levels in the oil and gas industry.

The successful development of oil and gas fields in our resource-rich Motherland demonstrates accelerated progress in this area. At the same time, exploration, production, and supply of hydrocarbons must comply with environmental protection requirements, adhere to ecological standards, and minimize climate impact. I am confident that oil and gas industry workers and geologists, adopting best international practices, will continue to make a significant contribution to fulfilling Turkmenistan’s obligations in this field.

Dear workers of the oil and gas industry and geology!

Our independent neutral Motherland strives to utilize its natural resources not only in national interests, but also in the interests of the peoples of the region and the world. Therefore, diversifying export routes and creating an extensive pipeline network remain key priorities of our energy strategy. The measures undertaken aim to ensure energy security, regional prosperity, and a stable economic environment. We will continue our work in this direction.

Once again, I sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday and wish you good health, family happiness, and great success in your work!

President of Turkmenistan
Serdar Berdimuhamedov
