A draft of the “Concept for the Development of the Digital Economy in Turkmenistan for 2026–2028” has been prepared.

Turkmenistan Approves the Concept for Digital Economy Development for 2026–2028

This was reported by Deputy Prime Minister M. Chakyyev during a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan on October 8.

The main goal of the Concept is to develop digital infrastructure, create favorable conditions for the effective functioning of government institutions and all sectors of the economy, and increase the country's competitiveness by introducing advanced production technologies into circulation and legislation.

The Concept includes provisions for:

  • improving the legal framework for the digital economy in accordance with international standards and national interests,

  • developing the e-government system, digital education and science, digital healthcare, and financial technologies,

  • modernizing data transmission networks,

  • strengthening international cooperation,

  • and attracting investments.

In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted a draft Resolution for the President’s consideration.

Hero Arkadagly Serdar, President of Turkmenistan, after hearing the report, emphasized that effective work is underway to integrate digital systems into the national economy and that great importance is given to the development of e-government. To continue the efforts to build an innovative, high-tech digital economy, the Head of State signed the prepared document and gave relevant instructions.
