Turkmenistan’s Honor Guard Unit to Take Part in Military Parade in Moscow

Turkmenistan’s Special Honor Guard unit will take part in the ceremonial military parade on May 9 in Moscow, the capital of Russia, in honor of Victory Day. This was announced by Russia’s Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Ivan Volynkin, in an official statement.
According to the ambassador, the participation of the President of Turkmenistan in the May 9 ceremonies in Moscow every year symbolizes the brotherly ties between the peoples of Turkmenistan and Russia. He also noted that Turkmenistan’s Honor Guard Battalion had marched on Red Square in 2010 and 2020, and will do so again on May 9, 2025.
Ivan Volynkin also emphasized the significant role of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in honoring the memory of those who died in the war.
The ambassador stated that Victory Day is celebrated widely and solemnly in Turkmenistan as well. Concerts, exhibitions, and film screenings are held in Ashgabat and other parts of the country. On that day, floral tributes are laid at the "People’s Memory" memorial complex.
The state policy of Turkmenistan pays special attention to war and labor veterans. Every year, on the occasion of Victory Day, valuable gifts are ceremonially presented to war veterans and the families of fallen soldiers.
