A super typhoon named "Ragasa" hit Hong Kong: subways closed, flights canceled

The strongest super typhoon of this year, "Ragasa," brought strong winds and heavy rains to Hong Kong. Over 865 shelters are operational in Shenzhen. The wind speed reached 200 kilometers per hour, uprooting entire orchards within an hour. The subway is not running, train stations are closed, and shopping centers have shut down. This was reported by "MIR 24."

In other countries, workers are reinforcing doors and windows of houses with wooden boards and sandbags. Local residents are buying large amounts of essential food supplies. Flights have been canceled, and schools have suspended classes.

According to "INTERFAX.RU," the typhoon has resulted in 14 deaths and 129 people missing.

Such natural disasters are common along China's southern coast. For example, in 2017, the sea typhoon "Hato" caused injuries to 270 people, with 120 of them in Hong Kong, according to the publication.
