All Opponents of Turkmenistan’s National Team in the CAFA-2025 Nations Cup Tournament Have Been Determined

The Indian national football team will participate in the CAFA Nations Cup tournament, replacing Malaysia, which withdrew from the competition.

India’s team will compete in Group B, where their opponents will be the national teams of Tajikistan, Afghanistan, and Iran.

This will be the second time in the history of the CAFA Nations Cup that eight teams participate — the six CAFA member countries (Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Iran), along with the national teams of Oman and India.

The teams are divided into two groups. Matches for Group A will be held in Uzbekistan, while Group B matches will take place in Tajikistan. The group winners will face each other in the final, and the teams finishing second will compete for the bronze medal. The current champion is the Iranian national team.

Turkmenistan’s national team will play in Group A against Oman, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The Turkmen players will play their first match on August 30 against Kyrgyzstan, then face Uzbekistan on September 2, and their final group match will be on September 5 against Oman.

For Turkmenistan, this tournament will serve as preparation for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifying matches, where they will face Sri Lanka (on October 9 and November 14) and Chinese Taipei (on November 18).
