Boeing to Launch ViaSat-3 F2 Satellite in 2025

Boeing, one of the world’s leading aviation and aerospace companies, will officially launch a new high-speed communications satellite — ViaSat-3 F2 — for its customer. This satellite is the second to be launched in the ViaSat-3 series, aimed at creating a high-capacity internet network worldwide.

The new satellite was built on the Boeing 702MP+ platform and is equipped with a fully electric propulsion system. The main communications payload was developed by Viasat. With its help, the satellite can deliver data transfer speeds exceeding 1 terabit per second.

Weighing approximately 6 tons, ViaSat-3 F2 is equipped with advanced Spectrolab solar panels and a high-capacity energy storage system.

According to Boeing, the satellite was transported to the Cape Canaveral launch site aboard an Antonov AN-124 cargo plane. Preparations are currently underway for its launch using an Atlas V 551 rocket.

The launch is scheduled for late October 2025. If successful, the new satellite will significantly increase the capacity and reliability of communication services for users across the Americas and over oceanic regions.

The ViaSat-3 system is one of the world’s largest orbital internet projects, aimed at providing global access to high-speed and stable communication services.
