China launches experimental communications satellite with Long March-5 rocket

The heavy-lift rocket Long March-5 was launched on Thursday, placing the Experimental Communication Technology Satellite No. 20 into orbit.

According to People’s Daily citing Report, the launch took place at the Wenchang Space Launch Site located on Hainan Island. The satellite successfully entered its designated orbit.

The experimental spacecraft is designed to demonstrate multi-band, high-speed satellite communication technologies.
