China Unveils Universal Vertical Takeoff Platform for the First Time
At the 7th China International Helicopter Expo in Tianjin, specialists from AVIC Global Cultural Technology unveiled for the first time a model of a combat aerial vehicle called “Violet Flame”, developed under the project “Southern Heavenly Gate.”
The Violet Flame is designed as a multi-purpose vertical takeoff and landing platform, deeply integrated with autonomous artificial intelligence. The vehicle can freely change its configuration, demonstrating high adaptability in carrying out various tasks — from search-and-rescue operations and medical evacuations to disaster relief missions.
As part of the Southern Heavenly Gate project, engineers last year also presented a prototype of a next-generation Chinese supersonic fighter jet named “White Emperor.”
