HUAWEI unveils beta version of HarmonyOS 6 with AI agent Xiaoya
The beta version of HarmonyOS 6 marks a significant step by Huawei towards an autonomous ecosystem, where the AI interface becomes the central element of interaction with the device.

At the developer conference on June 20, HUAWEI unveiled the beta version of HarmonyOS 6, placing a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence integration. The new Harmony Agent Framework (HMAF) allows AI agents to be embedded directly into the system and manage tasks using natural language.
Key Features:
-
AI agents can execute commands without manually launching apps
-
Voice and text query handling (e.g., recommending podcasts)
-
The AI model is trained on 20 trillion tokens
-
More than 50 agents for personal and professional use cases
-
Support for third-party developers
During the presentation, Huawei demonstrated a voice assistant named Xiaoya, which interacts with apps and refines user queries through dialogue. Huawei promises deeper AI integration compared to competitors’ solutions.
