Laying the Foundation for a New Chemical Complex in Turkmenabat
During the working visit of our respected President to the region, a historic event took place — the foundation laying ceremony of a new chemical complex at the S.A. Niyazov Chemical Plant in Turkmenabat. This complex will produce 350,000 tons of superphosphate and 100,000 tons of ammonium sulfate fertilizers annually.
This state initiative marks the beginning of the second phase of deep reforms at the plant. The first phase was initiated under the leadership of our Hero Arkadag.
Building a local raw material base, constructing factories and production facilities enables our country to widely produce competitive fertilizers, ensure food security, and expand economic opportunities. It also contributes to import substitution, allowing the production of goods previously imported from abroad. The chemical industry plays an important role in this process.
The rapid development of this sector is very encouraging. The volume of processed and enriched raw materials is increasing. The main goals include ensuring high product quality and creating new varieties of fertilizers.
Currently, the chemical plant produces annually:
-
170,000 tons of superphosphate,
-
200,000 tons of oxygen,
-
and oxigumat, a plant growth stimulant.
In the near future, the volume of superphosphate production will increase with modern technologies, improving quality even further. New production lines for ammonium sulfate will also be established, benefiting farmers.
According to the plant director, Ramazan Halbayev, with the blessing of our respected President, the construction of the new complex will make a significant contribution to our country’s economic power.
Thanks to the continuous attention and care of the Head of State, the chemical industry of our region has become one of the fast-growing and promising sectors. Powerful production bases for various mineral fertilizers have been created in the region.
