Fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have been eagerly awaiting the release of two new "Avengers" films. However, Marvel Studios has officially announced that both movies have been postponed. These projects are considered some of the largest in the studio's history.

New "Avengers" Films Release Dates Postponed

The delay is intended to ensure a smooth and uninterrupted production process. Additionally, releasing movies in December typically results in higher box office revenues, which also influenced the decision.

According to the updated schedule:

"Avengers: Doomsday", originally set for release on May 1, 2026, will now premiere on December 18, 2026.

"Avengers: Secret Wars", initially planned for May 7, 2027, will instead be released on December 17, 2027.

Both films will be directed by the acclaimed Russo brothers — Anthony and Joe Russo, who previously directed the hit films Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
