Harry Potter Series: New Lead Actors Announced for HBO Adaptation

It was previously announced that a new TV series based on J.K. Rowling’s famous “Harry Potter” books is in development. The series will be produced by Warner Bros. and will stream on HBO.

Harry Potter Series: New Lead Actors Announced for HBO Adaptation

The young actors who will play the iconic lead roles have now been revealed:

Dominic MacLoughlin will play Harry Potter,

Arabella Stanton takes on the role of Hermione Granger,

Alastair Stout will portray Ron Weasley.

In the original film series, these characters were famously played by Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint. For the newly announced actors, this will be their first major acting experience.

The series is planned to span seven seasons — one for each book — and will be released over a 10-year period on HBO. While an official release date has not yet been confirmed, the show is expected to premiere in late 2026 or early 2027.
