Our National Treasure is a Wonderful Work of Art
As is well known, the handicrafts created by Turkmen women — carpets, rugs, felts, and other woven products — are among our national values that have reached the level of fine craftsmanship and even art. Currently, extensive efforts are being made to pass down these ancient and valuable traditions to future generations and to successfully continue their production.
Members of the Turkmenistan Industrialists and Entrepreneurs Association also make a worthy contribution to this work. One of them is Ahmet Bejayev, an entrepreneur from the Halaç district of Lebap province and a member of this association. He has modernized the production of carpets and rugs inherited from our mothers and grandmothers.
While developing our national values in a modern style, the entrepreneur also makes a significant contribution to creating new jobs in rural areas. This is confirmed by the fact that over 150 skilled women work under contract at his enterprise.
— We supply the women who want to work at our enterprise with raw materials — that is, threads. In the era of the Revival of the New Age of the Resurgent State, the masters skillfully weave various colorful handmade carpets and rugs, demonstrating their expertise. Carpets woven from wool and silk captivate with their beautiful appearance. Rugs, unlike carpets, are flat-woven products primarily used as bedding or door coverings. Our main goal is to continue the traditions of the national carpet weaving art, enrich ancient roots with new forms, satisfy the desires of our people, and spread Turkmen weaving art worldwide, — says entrepreneur Ahmet Bejayev.
It is worth noting that the entrepreneur successfully fulfills orders for these products from all regions of the country. The steady increase in orders for carpets and rugs proves that production work is carried out at a high level of quality here.
Moreover, these products are offered to the public at affordable prices and are put on sale in specialized carpet stores in the capital. The entrepreneur plans to expand operations further and open a dedicated retail store in Ashgabat, and relevant organizational work is underway.
In the Year of International Peace and Trust, the entrepreneur, who steadily increases production rates, continues creative searches to offer customers new types of Turkmen handmade carpets and rugs, shining like sun rays. Because these products, woven in modern conditions and delivered to our people, are our national treasure — a wonderful work of art.
