Russia and Kazakhstan Sign Memorandum on Construction of New Main Gas Pipeline

Gazprom and the Government of Kazakhstan have signed a memorandum on the implementation of a project to build a new main gas pipeline from Russia to Kazakhstan.

According to Report, citing Russian media, this was stated in an official announcement from the gas company Gazprom.

The document was signed during a working meeting between the Chairman of the Management Committee of PJSC Gazprom, Alexey Miller, and the First Deputy Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Roman Sklyar.

Both sides emphasized their commitment to long-term cooperation, taking into account Kazakhstan’s growing demand for natural gas.

In addition, an agreement was signed outlining the main terms for long-term processing of Kazakh gas in Russia. The document formalizes cooperation on processing gas from the Karachaganak field at the Orenburg Gas Processing Plant, which will be modernized as part of the project.
