Sayat's "White Gold" Masters Harvest Over 45 Centners
The “Çekiç” (Hammer) farmers’ association in Sayat district is known as one of the leading agricultural collectives in the Lebap province. Last year, the cotton farmers of this association managed to harvest 40–45 centners per hectare. There are six cotton-growing teams in the association, and a competition has been announced among them to select the most skilled performers.
The second cotton team, led by Hemra Durdyyev, maintained its lead last year by harvesting 610 tons of cotton from 150 hectares, and this year, they are again at the forefront. The experienced tenant farmers of the team have already started fulfilling their commitments. Among them, Rozmenli Owezgeldiyeva stood out by harvesting 45 centners in two pickings. Ogulsuray Magtymowa also contributed nearly 10 tons of “white gold” to the national harvest from her 2.5-hectare leased plot.
There are 87 experienced tenant farmers working in this team. When you look at the cotton fields in the area called "Shor Atyz," where they cultivate the land, it’s a pleasing sight. By planting the cotton variety “S-2606,” these farmers are achieving high yields, and every day brings positive news of fulfilled targets. This, in turn, motivates the other cotton-growing teams in the association to strive for success.
