Specialized Educational Programs on Artificial Intelligence and Blockchain Technologies Being Developed in Turkmenistan’s Universities
Artificial intelligence (AI), information technologies, and blockchain technologies are among the priority areas of scientific and technical development in Turkmenistan. To train qualified specialists in these fields, several higher education institutions in the country are developing specialized educational programs. This was reported at a meeting of education workers held on August 23, 2024, in the conference hall of Magtymguly Turkmen State University.
During the meeting, the results of the 2024–2025 academic year were summarized, and key tasks for the upcoming 2025–2026 academic year were outlined. The main speaker was Maksat Churiev, Acting Head of the Department of Cybersecurity at the International University of Oil and Gas named after Yagshygeldi Kakaev, and a Candidate of Technical Sciences. He spoke in detail about the role of artificial intelligence in the education system and its prospects for application. The positive experience gained in this area in Turkmenistan was also noted.
According to Maksat Churiev, the development of these educational programs is being carried out in accordance with the instructions of the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, who set the task of training youth in the fields of artificial intelligence, information technologies, and blockchain technologies. The creation of such programs contributes to preparing young specialists with modern skills capable of quickly mastering innovative technologies.
The main goals of the new educational programs are to provide quality education, implement advanced global innovative solutions into the educational process, and prepare specialists who meet international standards. In addition, the development of these programs significantly contributes to the development of the country’s innovative economy and the preparation of personnel that meet market requirements.
Education in artificial intelligence and blockchain technologies helps bring Turkmenistan’s economy to a new digital level. Universities are expanding cooperation in these areas and developing active ties with research and production organizations. To ensure that graduates are competitive in the international market, the educational programs are regularly updated according to modern requirements.
Thus, the specialized educational programs on artificial intelligence, information technologies, and blockchain technologies being developed in Turkmenistan’s higher education institutions play an important role in raising the educational level of youth, preparing innovative personnel, and developing the country’s modern economy.
