Turkmenistan Prepares for the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC)
Avaza, Turkmenistan – From August 5 to 8, 2025, the Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC) will take place in the National Tourist Zone “Avaza.” Preparations are being carried out at a high organizational level.

On April 11, 2025, the 79th session of the UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution confirming the event, reinforcing the international community’s support for Turkmenistan’s initiatives.
By order of the President of Turkmenistan, working groups are being formed, training programs developed, and a volunteer corps of foreign-language-speaking students prepared. University professors, interpreters, and students from specialized institutions — including those from the Trade and Cooperative College under the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations — are involved.
In addition to the main conference, an International Youth Forum and information-educational events featuring young journalists and bloggers are planned. Since March, volunteers have undergone special training in language and protocol, with expert-led workshops.
The event is aimed at strengthening international cooperation, discussing sustainable development challenges for landlocked countries, and finding new formats of partnership.
