UN Secretary-General António Guterres Arrives in Turkmenistan
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres arrived in Turkmenistan to participate in the third international conference on landlocked developing countries, held on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea. This was reported in the “Watan” news program.
The visit of the high-ranking guest began at Turkmenbashi International Airport. At the airport, decorated with the flags of the UN and the countries participating in the conference, António Guterres was warmly welcomed.
United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres was cordially received here by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. Both sides exchanged mutual respect and discussed the significance of the visit.
Guterres’s visit is seen as the next expression of Turkmenistan’s efforts to develop international cooperation and to expand the economic opportunities of landlocked countries.
