Uzbekistan Proposes Ban on Filming People Without Their Consent
The Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan is currently reviewing a new draft law aimed at protecting citizens' privacy. The document proposes a ban on taking photos or videos of individuals and using their images without prior consent.

According to a statement published on the official Telegram channel of the lower house of parliament, the rapid development of information and communication technologies has, in some cases, led to violations of individuals' rights to control the use of their image. The main issue is the lack of effective legal mechanisms to protect this right.
The draft law also includes specific exceptions where obtaining consent would not be required. Additionally, the document clarifies legal aspects of using a person’s image in the context of employment relationships.
The adoption of this law is expected to strengthen legal safeguards for personal privacy and prevent misuse related to public photography and videography.
