American theoretical physicist Michio Kaku shared his opinion about the mysterious interstellar object 3I/ATLAS, which has sparked debates among scientists about its possible extraterrestrial origin. Kaku posted a clip from his Newsmax interview on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

3I/ATLAS is the third confirmed object detected entering the Solar System from interstellar space.

According to Kaku, most scientists believe that 3I/ATLAS is simply another interstellar object passing through our system. However, a small but growing group of researchers think it could be artificial or controlled by an advanced intelligence.

“If it gains extra energy while passing around the Sun, it would violate the conservation of energy. That would clearly indicate intelligent control,” Kaku said.

A few days later, he reported on X that after his interview, numerous AI-generated fake videos appeared online, spreading false claims under his name.

The interstellar object 3I/ATLAS was discovered on July 1. It is an ancient comet with a coma about 24 km in diameter and an estimated age of over 7.5 billion years.

According to Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, on December 19, 2025, the object will make its closest approach to Earth — around 267 million kilometers away. Loeb believes that this will help determine whether the object has an artificial nature, suggesting that its trajectory might have been calculated by extraterrestrial intelligence.
