CAVA Men's Nations League 2025 Kicks Off in Fergana

Fergana, Uzbekistan – May 29, 2025. The long-awaited CAVA Men’s Nations League 2025 has officially begun in Uzbekistan, bringing together seven national volleyball teams from Central and South Asia for a week of intense matches and regional unity.

Tournament Dates: May 29 – June 4

Group A: Uzbekistan (hosts), Turkmenistan, Iran, India

Group B: Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan

Thrilling Matches on Day One

Iran vs India: 3–1 (20–25, 25–19, 25–19, 25–22)

Despite losing the first set, Iran quickly took control, led by Ali Hajipur and Amirhossein Sadati, who dominated both offensively and in blocks. India fought hard with Chirag Chirag and Ashwal Rai standing out, but Iran prevailed. The match was watched by 500 fans.

Kyrgyzstan vs Kazakhstan: 3–1 (25–21, 25–20, 18–25, 25–21)

Kyrgyzstan opened their campaign with a strong win. Zheenbek uulu Zhandos scored 16 attack points and made 3 blocks, while Kanibek uulu Onolbek added 13 points with powerful serves. Petr Churzin and Vladimir Prokofiev played well for Kazakhstan, but it wasn’t enough. Around 600 fans attended.

Turkmenistan vs Uzbekistan: 3–1 (27–25, 21–25, 26–24, 25–14)

The highlight of the day was the showdown between the hosts and Turkmenistan. Despite winning the second set, Uzbekistan couldn't stop their rivals. Mekan Durdylyev and Bagtyyar Khemrakulyev led Turkmenistan with 12 and 17 points respectively. Around 800 spectators witnessed Turkmenistan’s commanding victory.

Opening Ceremony

The official opening ceremony followed the matches, featuring cultural performances and speeches by dignitaries who highlighted the importance of regional sports cooperation.
