China has already launched the 10G network: An 8K movie can be downloaded in a minute

A new 10G network has been launched in the Sunan region of China, marking the first deployment of its kind. This system increases data transmission capacity from the traditional gigabit range to 10G, significantly reducing latency to milliseconds.

In tests, the system recorded download speeds of 9834 Mbps and upload speeds of 1008 Mbps, with a latency of just 3 milliseconds. These figures far exceed current standards for home internet connections.

The new network is capable of seamlessly supporting heavy applications like 8K video, cloud services, virtual and augmented reality (VR and AR), and cloud gaming.

In a related report, some users in Beijing have already tested the 10G network. There, the download speed reached 9340.22 Mbps, and the upload speed was 6311.59 Mbps. Downloading a 90GB 8K movie now takes just about 72 seconds, compared to the 12 minutes required with a gigabit network.
