Hackers Publish Data of 5.7 Million Qantas Airline Customers in the Darknet
Personal data of customers of Australia's largest airline, Qantas, stolen by hackers in the summer of 2025, has been published on the darknet.
According to Report, citing 9News, the cybercriminals said the reason for publishing the information was the company’s refusal to pay the ransom.
Among the leaked data are customers’ full names, dates of birth, email addresses, and frequent flyer loyalty card numbers. The data also includes personal information of several prominent Australian politicians and public figures, such as their home addresses and phone numbers. However, the airline claims that the hackers did not gain access to credit card details or passport numbers.
“With the help of cybersecurity experts, we are investigating what data has been published and are taking additional security measures,” the airline said in a statement, adding that they are cooperating with government agencies and the federal police.
