Issues of Cooperation Between Turkmenistan and UNIDO Discussed
On August 6, 2025, a meeting was held between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the Deputy Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Fatou Haidara. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Turkmenistan and UNIDO in accordance with previously reached agreements. Projects related to industrialization and the development of smart cities with a focus on a "green approach" were discussed.
It was noted that the certificate of appreciation awarded to the city of Arkadag by UNIDO reflects the high regard for Turkmenistan's efforts in sustainable industrial development and in achieving the 2030 Agenda.
The sides also exchanged views on matters related to participation in events held within the framework of UNIDO.
