President of Turkmenistan Paid a Working Visit to Balkan Province

President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov paid a working visit to the Balkan province. During the visit, the Head of State got acquainted with the level of preparation for the upcoming Third United Nations Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.

According to the official website of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan (TDH), the plane of the esteemed President flew over the city of Arkadag on its way from the capital Ashgabat to the city of Turkmenbashi. At that moment, the opening ceremony of a newly built highway and a modern bridge was taking place. During the event, elders and children gave their blessings to the President and warmly welcomed him with kind wishes.

At the Turkmenbashi International Airport, the President was welcomed by official representatives. This modern facility, which has been re-equipped, is now equipped with state-of-the-art technologies, creating broad opportunities for the development of international air services.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov visited the forum venue and reviewed the ongoing preparations. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov provided detailed information on the favorable conditions created for the international forum.

According to TDH, the President emphasized that the holding of this high-level forum is a clear indication of Turkmenistan's strategic partnership with the United Nations. On April 11, 2025, the 63rd plenary meeting of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution regarding this forum, co-sponsored by 57 countries. High-level representatives from various countries, international organizations, and private sector leaders are expected to attend the forum.

During the trip, the President also visited the planned venues for cultural events in the “Avaza” National Tourist Zone. It was noted that these events would contribute to strengthening cultural ties between friendly countries. The modern hotels and recreation complexes in Avaza are fully prepared to receive international guests at the highest level.

In accordance with the country’s long-standing traditions of hospitality, the Head of State gave relevant instructions for welcoming foreign guests and providing high-level services.

After completing the working visit, the President departed from Turkmenbashi International Airport and returned to Ashgabat. According to TDH, this visit once again clearly demonstrated the large-scale preparation efforts being undertaken to ensure the successful organization of the international forum.
