Somalia Expresses Interest in Active Cooperation with Turkmenistan

On August 4, a meeting was held between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Isaak Mohamud Mursal.

During the meeting, the parties expressed their interest in actively developing political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian relations between the two countries. This was reported on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The effective nature of cooperation within international organizations, especially under the United Nations, was noted. The Somali side stated its support for Turkmenistan’s peace-loving initiatives and expressed readiness to continue constructive cooperation for the sake of universal peace and sustainable development.

From this perspective, Turkmenistan’s practical commitment to the high ideals of peace among peoples, mutual respect, and understanding was emphasized.

The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Somalia highlighted the special importance of the United Nations’ Third Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDC3) and highly appreciated the efforts of the Turkmen government in organizing the event.
