Recycling – Protecting Nature, Developing the Economy: Effective Work of the Lebapmetalproducts Branch

In our village, the metal stake hammered into the ground to tie up livestock was called a "Gülmyh". This word has stayed in my ears since childhood. To hammer a Gülmyh into the ground, you needed a relatively heavy piece of iron. A brick would break easily, but iron could withstand repeated blows. However, in childhood, driven by play and distraction, we often lost those metal pieces and would then set out again in search of another one. Eventually, it didn’t take long before the fields or gardens where the cattle grazed were scattered with such iron pieces. They would either get caught in the plough of a tractor or be unearthed by my father's spade. You just had to be ready for a scolding.

When I heard about the work of the Lebapmetalproducts Branch of the Turkmenmetalproducts State Enterprise, that carefree childhood memory came back to me, and I found myself smiling unconsciously. It turns out that excess or scrap metal can be recycled and turned into new products. Guided by the instructions of our Esteemed President to increase the country’s production capacity, use natural resources efficiently, and modernize recycling processes, the branch is carrying out very productive work.

Specifically, over 1,000 tons of ferrous metal, 9–10 tons of non-ferrous metal, and 20–25 tons of polymer and paper waste are recycled here annually. In addition, more than 100 tons of used car tires are reprocessed every year. Thus, alongside contributing to the national economy, the branch also plays an important role in protecting the environment.

To carry out all this work, proper technical capacity is essential. The branch currently receives raw materials with the help of modern trucks such as KamAZ, MAZ, DAF, as well as by railway and other up-to-date equipment from both local and foreign companies. The recycled products are then efficiently used across various sectors of the country.

According to the branch manager, Atajan Rustamov, about 800–850 tons of ferrous metal waste is recycled monthly. In the coming year, the enterprise plans to introduce mobile vehicles equipped with plasma cutters, casting units, and modern lathes, which will allow them to perform advanced machining and fabrication. These improvements will expand the service capabilities of the branch’s specialists even further.

The work carried out in this branch is not only economically important but also environmentally significant. Recycling waste helps preserve the natural state of the environment, ensures energy efficiency, and supports the sustainable development of the local market. Each activity performed here aligns with our Esteemed President’s vision of seeing our country among environmentally clean and economically strong nations.

The employees of the Lebapmetalproducts Branch approach their duties with great responsibility. Regular training sessions and exchange programs are organized to enhance their professional skills and mastery of modern technologies. This brings new energy to the enterprise and inspires a spirit of creativity among the workers.

The work being done here is a worthy contribution to strengthening the economic potential of our country, improving the standard of living of our people, and ensuring the prosperity of our beloved homeland.
