Results of the First Seven Months: Stable Growth Pace Ensured in the Economy of Lebap Province

The financial and economic indicators of the first seven months of the current year clearly show comprehensive development in Lebap province. According to official information from Turkmenistan’s State News Agency (TDH), high results were achieved in the province’s industrial sector during this period.
During the reporting period, the volume of products produced in various industrial sectors of the province amounted to about 11.9 billion manats at current prices. Of this, about 2.9 billion manats accounted for state-owned enterprises. The majority of the produced goods were formed by enterprises in the petrochemical and gas sectors.
Compared to the same period last year, growth was ensured in the production of silk fabrics, cement, raw silk, mineral water, non-alcoholic beverages, cotton yarns, confectionery products, and electric power.
Also, the volume of industrial products delivered to consumers, including the stock at the beginning of the year, amounted to 2,637.2 million manats, of which 56.3% was exported abroad.
Among the large industrial enterprises in the region, the Seydi oil refining plant stood out. During the seven months of this year, the plant processed 269.5 thousand tons of crude oil, producing 127.4 thousand tons of gasoline, 62.7 thousand tons of diesel fuel, and 12.4 thousand tons of road bitumen. These figures show a 21.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
Since the beginning of the year, the province has produced:

743.6 thousand tons of cement,

cotton yarn worth 236.5 million manats,

33.4 tons of raw silk,

96.6 thousand cubic meters of silk fabric,

1,737.1 tons of confectionery products.
Along with industry, the energy sector also shows growth. During the reporting period, 2,429.5 million kilowatt-hours of electricity were produced, a 3.6% increase compared to the same period last year. This ensured the stability of energy supply to both domestic and foreign markets.
Agriculture: Production Increases, Prices Stabilize
The agricultural sector of the province also demonstrates high efficiency. Tasks to increase agricultural production and reduce imports are being successfully implemented.
In the first seven months of 2025, the province produced:

66.6 thousand tons of vegetables,

16.4 thousand tons of food melons,

14.8 thousand tons of early fruits,
-
82.8 thousand tons of potatoes, directed to population consumption.
Also, in the livestock sector, the following animals are kept:

561.6 thousand heads of cattle,

2,936.9 thousand heads of sheep and goats,
-
4,277.5 thousand birds,
-
5.9 thousand camels,
-
2.8 thousand horses.
During this period, the following was produced:

73.9 thousand tons of meat (live weight),

306.6 thousand tons of milk,
-
130.3 million eggs.
These production results were achieved thanks to the efforts of livestock breeders in Sayat, Çärjew, Halaç, and Köýtendag districts.
Positive Effect on Price Reduction
Along with increased production, the abundance of goods in the market ensures price stability. Compared to the previous month, prices in the last month of this year decreased by:

Apples – 35%,

Greenhouse tomatoes – 31.78%,

Cucumbers – 18.34%,

White cabbage – 15.79%,

Potatoes – 11.38%,

Eggs – 8.86%.
Similarly, reductions were recorded in prices of onions, sugar beets, greens, and other products.
Thanks to the successful implementation of the social and economic development programs initiated by the esteemed President, the economy of Lebap province maintains a stable pace of growth. The results of the first seven months testify to new heights in the industrial, energy, and agricultural sectors of the region.
