Lebap Region — A Center of Stable Growth and Innovations

At the recent extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, chaired by our Honorable President, the results of the work carried out in our Independent country were comprehensively reviewed. At the meeting, the Honorable President particularly emphasized the progress achieved across all sectors of the national economy.
During the reporting period, the growth rate of the gross domestic product reached 6.3 percent. This indicates that the large-scale economic reforms being implemented in our country further strengthen the capacity of the state.
Programmatic Growth and State Policy
Our Sunny Homeland is currently following a development path in line with phased programs. Stable economic growth, international cooperation, implementation of major projects, construction of new villages and cities, and raising the living standards of the population are among the priority directions of state policy.
A scientific analysis of Turkmenistan’s economic and social development confirms a high level of the national economy, which lays a solid foundation for future growth.
The economy is the main force ensuring a high standard of living. Thanks to the tireless efforts of the Head of State, a stable growth rate is achieved in all sectors of the economy, and social protection of the population is steadily ensured.
Economic Development of the Regions
In the Lebap region, as in other regions, large-scale development is underway. The population of cities and villages is supplied with fresh vegetables and greens throughout the year. Tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, eggplants, dill, and greens are grown in greenhouses.
The production of packaged vegetables, juices, beverages, bakery and confectionery products is established. The region has an industrial structure that meets modern requirements, and large investments are attracted.
The allocation of land into private ownership to increase the yield of agricultural crops also positively affects economic growth. The harvest of over 1.4 million tons of wheat nationwide is a result of these reforms.
Industrial and Production Growth
Industrial production is increasing in the region. The construction of new plants and factories expands the economic capabilities of the areas. The second phase of the Lebap Cement Plant with an annual capacity of 1 million tons, based on raw materials from the Koytendag area, is operating successfully.
Also, the opening and successful operation of a plant producing glycyrrhizic acid within the Buyan agro-industrial complex, a small ceramic tile factory, and other small industrial enterprises testify to the economic growth in the region.
Innovations and Export Opportunities
At the extended Cabinet of Ministers meeting, the Honorable President emphasized the task of further increasing the level of industrial-innovative development. The introduction of advanced technologies into production accelerates the growth of the national economy. As a result, the country’s export potential expands, and our products become competitive in the global market.
Demand for our products in the oil and gas, textile, and other sectors is steadily increasing. High results achieved in all sectors indicate fundamental changes in the country’s economic structure over recent years. This also creates conditions for increasing state budget revenues.
Our country’s economy not only meets internal demand but also successfully performs in international markets, which is clear evidence of Turkmenistan’s achievements on the path of development.
