Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Arrives in Awaza for Official Visit
A parliamentary delegation led by Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, has arrived in Turkmenistan for an official visit. The purpose of the visit is to participate in the Inter-Parliamentary Forum held within the framework of the 3rd UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, taking place in the "Awaza" National Tourist Zone on the Caspian coast.
According to the “Report” news agency, the high-ranking guest was welcomed at Turkmenbashi International Airport by Bayramgozel Myradova, Chairperson of the Committee on Science, Education, Culture and Youth Policy of the Turkmenistan Mejlis, Gismat Gozalov, Azerbaijan’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Turkmenistan, and other officials.
The report notes that Sahiba Gafarova will chair the first session of the Inter-Parliamentary Forum. She is also scheduled to deliver a speech at the forum and hold a number of bilateral meetings.
As part of the forum, the National Day of the friendly Republic of Azerbaijan will also be celebrated. During the closing ceremony of the forum, scheduled for August 6, Azerbaijani artists will perform a concert.
In addition to topics such as regional cooperation, transport and logistics opportunities, and economic integration, the forum will also address ways to expand inter-parliamentary relations.
