The Championship Battle in La Liga Intensifies
In the 34th round of Spain's national football championship, two title contenders – Barcelona and Real Madrid – both secured victories, but it wasn’t easy for them.
Barcelona, playing against the bottom team Valladolid, trailed after the first half when Ivan Sánchez scored in the 6th minute. However, the Catalans showed a strong performance in the second half, with goals from Raphinha (54') and Fermín López (60') securing a 2-1 victory.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid hosted Celta at home. In the first 50 minutes, Madrid displayed a powerful attack, with goals from Arda Güler (33') and Mbappé (39', 48') putting them ahead 3-0. However, after Carlo Ancelotti substituted Raúl Asensio, the team faced strong pressure in the final minutes. Celta reduced the deficit with goals from Rodríguez (69') and Svedberg (76'). Despite the strong resistance, Real Madrid held on to win 3-2.
As a result, Real Madrid managed to preserve a 4-point lead over Barcelona before the upcoming El Clasico.
The most important match of the 35th round of La Liga will take place on May 11. Barcelona will host their main rival, Real Madrid, at home. The much-anticipated match will kick off at 19:15 local time.
