The Film “Makhtumkuli Fragi” Wins the Top Award at Uzbekistan’s National Film Prize
On December 17, the award ceremony of Uzbekistan’s national film prize “Oltin Humo — 2025” was held at the Palace of National Cinematic Arts in Tashkent.
The feature film “Makhtumkuli Fragi”, created through the joint efforts of filmmakers from Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, won the top nomination at Uzbekistan’s national film awards. The film was recognized as Best Film. This achievement became yet another vivid confirmation of fruitful cultural cooperation and the strengthening of friendly ties between the two countries.
The large-scale film project was dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Eastern thinker and poet. Filming was carried out with the support of the Uzbekistan Agency of Cinematography, the Oguzhan-named “Turkmenfilm” Association, and the Center for the Development of National Cinematography of Uzbekistan.
The victory at the “Oltin Humo” awards continued the film’s series of international recognitions.
